Karen Sanderson, Owner:  "It all started with a backpack, a Eurail pass, and my friend Denise. Our trip through Europe had many highlights, but there is one thing I'll never forget.  We loved shopping the European markets!  We had never seen those delectable foods and wines in Montana and were impressed that our tight budgets could afford such an unforgettable culinary adventure.  Living in Brussels, Belgium for a couple years definitely fueled my love for unique beer, too."

Ever since that first trip abroad, Karen has developed a deep passion for and built a career around great food, wine and travel. While living in Portland, Oregon, her career started as a buyer for a specialty foods importer. Then a year in Spain. Back in Portland, she was hired to open the city's first urban winery.   Later, Karen became a national sales manager for Elk Cove Vineyards where she traveled to America’s top restaurants and retailers selling award winning Oregon pinot noir.  In 2010, Karen moved back to Kalispell and worked for George's Distributing to sell craft beers and fine wines in the Flathead Valley.  She opened Brix Bottleshop in 2012, and the rest is history.

"I've always wanted to find a way to share these experiences, so once settled back in Kalispell with my family, I knew this was the perfect place to set up shop.  My favorite treasures await you at Brix, and we look forward to hearing about your food and beverage adventures!"

Karen and Adrian bought the historic Simon Brust building at 115 S. Main Street in 2016.  The structure was originally built in 1928 as a tailor and barber shop.
