Our Story

Karen Sanderson, Owner:  "It all started with a backpack, a Eurail pass, and my friend Denise. Our trip through Europe had many highlights, but there is one thing I'll never forget.  We loved shopping the European markets!  We had never seen those delectable foods and wines in Montana and were impressed that our tight budgets could afford such an unforgettable culinary adventure.  Living in Brussels, Belgium for a couple years definitely fueled my love for unique beer, as well."

Ever since that first trip abroad, Karen has developed a deep passion for and built a career around great food, wine and travel.  While living in Portland, Oregon, her career started as a buyer for a specialty foods importer. Then there was Spain. Next, back in Portland, she was hired to open an urban winery in downtown Portland.   Later, Karen became a sales manager for Elk Cove Vineyards where she traveled to America’s top restaurants and retailers selling award winning Oregon pinot noir.  In 2010, Karen moved back to Kalispell and worked for George's Distributing to sell craft beers and fine wines in the Flathead Valley.  Then came Brix, and the rest is history!

"I've always wanted to find a way to share these experiences, so once settled back in Kalispell with my family, I knew this was the perfect place to set up shop.  My favorite treasures await you at Brix, and I look forward to hearing about your own culinary adventures."
